PSI recruitment scam kingpin arrested

Bengaluru, April 29: In a mega breakthrough and to save the embarrassment to BJP, the kingpin of the Police Sub Inspector (PSI) recruitment scam Divya Hagaragi along with two others was arrested at Pune today morning.

CID wing headed of Maharashtra by Raghavendra Hegde arrested Divya at Pune. CID was probing the gross irregularities in recruitment of 545 sub inspectors in the state. The alleged irregularities took place at Jnanajyoti English medium school at Kalaburagi belonging to BJP leader Divya Hagaragi. Police had launched man hunt for Divya for the last 18 days.

Divya will be brought to Kalaburagi today around 10 am. It may be recalled that the issue of PSI recruitment scam rocked the entire state and it had become a super weapon in the hands of opposition Congress.

KPCC president DK Shivakumar had alleged that Home Minister Araga Jnanendra was protecting prime accused in PSI scam Divya Hagaragi.

How the scam came to light:

The recruitment scam came to light in the Kalaburagi district after an aspirant was given 100 per cent marks though he had attempted only 21 questions in one of the question papers. More than 54,000 candidates wrote the exam for 545 posts. Police sources said the initial probe revealed that up to Rs 75 lakh to 80 lakh was charged from the candidates as bribes.
