Next 10 years are ‘ decade of irrigation ‘- CM
Kodekal (Yadgir district), Jan. 19:
The next year’s will be declared as the decade of irrigation and complete all the pending irrigation projects on priority, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking at the function to launch various development works worth Rs 10,863 crore by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday, he said the state has a target to irrigate 40.66 lakh hectares of which 30 lakh hectares are irrigated. Necessary steps will be taken to irrigate the remaining land.
Water to all achkut farmers through SCADA technology
He said water will be supplied to all the farmers of the Achkut areas in Narayanpur Left Bank Canal extension, revival and modernization by adopting SCADA technology. With the same technology, water will be supplied to all the tail-end farmers on one lakh hectares to irrigate 4.5 lakh hectares. This will also improve discipline in the water usage by 20 per cent. This is the biggest project in the Asian Continent. The projects of this nature will be implemented in thencoming days. .
