Half burnt expectant mother body found, necromancy suspected

Koppal, March 21: Although technology is developing at a rapid pace the practice of human sacrifice for treasure seems to be still prevalent in the state sending chill down the spine.

Police have recovered a half burnt body of a expectant mother in Koppal district in the state. The preliminary investigations have raised suspicion that that the expectant mother is killed and sacrificed for treasure.

The incident occured in Gabbur village in Koppal taluk. The deceased is identified as 26-year-old Nethravathi Kuri. She has one-and-a-half month old baby. According to police, the body has been recovered from a close by farm located close to her residence.

The police have ruled out the possibility of suicide and suspected it to be a case of murder. The probe has revealed that the home maker has been killed and sacrificed for hitting on treasure by miscreants. The police have also recovered few items used to perform black magic from the spot.

Police sources raised suspicion that since Monday was a full moon day, the lady is sacrificed by miscreants as part of necromancy. The Koppal Rural police have taken up the case for investigation.
