Pehala vote Campaign: Youth

Interacting with the voters: A response to the Modi government from mature and young conscious voters:

A befitting reply to Modi govt by the matured, responsible and knowledgeable

Chikkaballapur, Aug. 18; The upcoming Lok Sabha elections will change the political scenario of the country and the youth group should write the foreword for the change, said Raksha Ramaiah, AICC member and Youth Congress National General Secretary.

Speaking at the Pehala vote and Yuva Mata Abhiyan (young voter campaign) and youth group dialogue programme at Okkaligara Kalyana Mantapa of Chikkaballapur organised by the National Youth Congress, he said that the people of the country want change and Karnataka has become the gateway for the same. The youth have realised that none of the burning issues could be resolved by the centre. The first time voters are matured and intelligent and the thought of bringing about a change has been ignited already, he said.

The central government is leaving no stones unturned to capture the power in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Rumors are rife that the Supreme Court Chief Justice will be dropped from the committee to appoint the head of the Central Election Commission. A bill in this regard has been presented in the Rajya Sabha. The Modi government has blown the hopes of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has also reprimanded the Central Government in the matter of Enforcement Directorate. He said that even if all the constitutional institutions are misused, they cannot prevent the victory of the Congress-led India alliance in the parliamentary polls.

Pehala vote is crucial campaign in view of the Lok Sabha elections, which has started across the country. The party is engaged in creating awareness about exercising franchise and its importance among the youth in the age group of between 18 and 23 years.

This unique and pivotal campaign will be intensified at all colleges, malls, markets and crowded areas, emphasised Mr Ramaiah said.

Central government is getting enlightened after losing election in Karnataka following a huge price hike. No attempt were made to bail out the poor from the crisis of price hike. The prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and food items burnt a deep hole in the pockets of citizens. After the successful implementation of guarantee schemes in Karnataka, it has now decided to reduce the price. He expressed his displeasure that the Modi government, which had been a mute spectator after watching the plight of the people for so long, has now started shedding crocodile tears for the poor, he charged.

Meritorious students were felicitated on this occasion. Chikkaballapur Assembly Constituency MLA Pradeep Eshwar, Legislative Council Member Anil Kumar and other dignitaries participated in the meeting.
