Plaint against a minister for allegedly threatening a family

Hosapete, Sept. 01: Registering complaints and counter complaints are common. Here ia an unusual complaint with regard to land dispute involving a minister himself.

A case of alleged threatening a family has been registered against Karnataka Tourism, Ecology and Environment Minister Anand Singh. The family members later allegedly
tried to immolate themselves, police sources said on Wednesday.

D Polappa has foisted a complaint under the Prevention of Atrocities Against SC-ST Act, and sections 504 and 506 of the IPC.
An FIR has been registered against four persons including the minister.

There was a land dispute between Polappa and another familt with regard to ownership of a piece of land in a village in Hospet.

During the minister’s visit to the village on Tuesday, he was requested to sort out the
dispute arised between two families.

However, Polappa who belongs to SC community alleged that the minister had threatened to burn his entire family.
The complainant arrived near the Hospet rural police station on Tuesday night with five of his relatives. All of them tried to immolate themselves. However, they were rescued and taken to hospital, police said.
A case was also registered against Polappa and five others for attempting to commit suicide, police added.
