Truth Triumphs

Bus commuters likely to get fare hike shock

Bengaluru, April 13: After power tariff hike citizens of Bengaluru are likely face yet another blow.

This time the bus ticket prices are likely to be hiked by at least 35 per cent burning a deep hole in the pockets of BMTC commuters.

BMTC is the life line of Bengaluru for bus commuters. A proposal to hike the bus fares has been sent to government and waiting for an approval.

A proposal has been already sent last week. If the proposal is considered the fare hike will be imminent, confirmed sources.

Due to the increase in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG gas the rates of ready-food at hotels and darshinis have been revised.

The BMTC has made its stand on price hike clear before the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and have said that unless the prices are revised it would be tough to run the BMTC.
However, Bommai has reportedly agreed to consider the proposal.
