Bengaluru, Dec. 8: In an attempt to ease congestion across the city, five more new traffic police stations will be sanctioned in next 2-3 days, assured Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Talking to reporters after opening a new office of ACP, Seshadripuram L& O police station, traffic police station and foundation stone for High ground police station here on Thursday, he said five new traffic police stations will come up in Dark area and here Intelligent Traffic Management System technology will be used.
It will identify any traffic violation and will put end to stopping of vehicle riders, harassment, corruption and other problems for the riding public. The system will also levy fine. There will be provision for the synchronisation of traffic.
Already, traffic synchronisation has been done from Minerva Circle up to Town Hall. The work of synchronisation has begun in other places. A traffic meeting was held today in which instructions were issued to do the synchronisation on 12 hi-density corridors to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
He said directions are issued to streamline 5-6 junctions like Goraguntepallya, Silk Board and KR Puram. In the coming days, apart from road development, even traffic management will be improved.
Change of traffic system
Bommai said the new traffic system has come into being. To address traffic related problems they wanted to have plan and special formation. After many experiments, done decisions are taken. They are creation of the post of special commissioner for traffic and given the staff.
The traffic management expert and a PhD holder, M.A.Salim has been appointed for the newly created post. Already, he has brought several changes in traffic management.
