Appointment of In-Charge Princapals and transfer process to begin

Government First Grade Colleges

Bengaluru, March 5: The vacancies for 410 Principal posts in the government first grade colleges will be filled by recruiting In-Charge principals through counselling, Dr. C. N.Aswhatha Narayana, Minister for Higher Education said.

In a press statement on Saturday, he has stated, there are 327 posts of Grade-1 Principals vacant in first grade colleges and 38 posts of grade-2 posts vacant in degree colleges with P.G. courses. Those who were serving in these posts have got retired in the month of February, Minister has stated. The recruitment is being made in order to avert lack of academic leadership in the colleges, Narayana has told.

The details of colleges where there is vacancy for principal posts will be put on the website of the department 15 days before the counselling. The Associate/Assistant Professors will be called for counselling based on seniority of service they have put in, he has stated.

It will also be ensured that the teaching subject of those who are selected exists in respective colleges for where they are appointed.

The recruitment process for permanent posts in these colleges has also been initiated. Those who will be appointed as In-Charge principals will be working till the appointment is made for permanent posts, Mr Narayana clarified.

Counselling for transfer:
The Minister has told that the transfers for teaching faculty of these colleges will be held in the months of March and Apil through counselling.
