UoM confers honorary doctorate on actor Puneeth Rajkumar posthumously

Bangalore, March 22: Leading sandalwood actor late Puneeth Rajkumar’s wife Ashwini on Tuesday received honorary doctorate posthumously from University of Mysore (UoM) for his philanthropic service to society and his contribution to the Kannada film industry.
The doctorate was conferred at the 102nd convocation of the University of Mysore, organised at Crawford Hall, Mysore.

Actor’s brother Raghavendra Rajkumar, sisters and other members of Dr. Rajkumar’s family were present.

became emotional and recalled that his father legendaru actor Rajkumar receiving a honorary doctorate from the University of Mysore.
“My father was 47-years old when he got his doctorate. My brother has been conferred with a honorary doctorate posthumously at the age of 47,” he adds.

“Puneeth believed that awards should follow them due to the merit of work and one must not go after the awards. He has proved his own words. words. The honour has increased the responsibility on us, to follow in Puneeth’s footsteps. We need to continue Puneeth’s legacy as it is a great honour bestowed on him,” Mr. Raghavendra Rajkumar said.

Meanwhile, the topper in MBA will be given gold medal in the name of Parvathamma Rajkumar and topper in fine arts will get Puneeth Rajkumar medal.
