Surya welcomes Ukraine returnees in Delhi

New Delhi, February 27: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya met a group of Indian students who had returned from Ukraine at the Karnataka Bhavan here on Sunday.

The students reached Delhi from Romania around 2 am on Sunday and Surya had made requests for their arrangements and onward connection to Bengaluru with Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai and Revenue Minister R Ashoka. The Karnataka Government will bear the expenses for the domestic flight connections of Karnataka students returning from Ukraine through the Government of India’s #OperationGanga rescue mission.

“The students evacuated from Ukraine have nothing but words of gratitude for Sri Narendra Modi Ji,” Surya tweeted later.

“They said, while students from other countries are still waiting for any communication, they are already in India.

“Around 30 Karnataka students will soon go to their families, thanks to arrangements made by CM Sri Basavaraj Bommai. My office is coordinating with Indian students and helping in every way possible for their safe return. Let’s spread positivity & hope during this challenging time.”

Meanwhile, the MP Office also greeted a different group of students who had landed in Bengaluru from Mumbai. The group of 14 Karnataka students had reached Mumbai through the first flight from Romania on Saturday evening.
