Bengaluru, May 11: Saluting the valour of Havalkar Kashiraya Bammanahalli of Vijayapura district on being honoured with the Shaurya Chakra posthumously for his exemplary courage shown during an encounter with the terrorists in Pulwama district of Kashmir in July last year, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has termed it as a proud moment for every Kannadiga. Bammanalli attained martyrdom in the encounter.
“It is the highest gallantry award received by a Kannadiga. It is an honour in recognition of Bammanalli’s valour, courage and sacrifice,” Bommai said.
The Chief Minister has assured all the support in accordance with the guidelines for the family of martyred Havaldar.
