Bengaluru, July 6: I have spoken to the Deputy Commissioners to take up immediate rescue and relief works in areas affected by heavy rains in various parts of the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
The Chief Minister was speaking to media persons after paying tributes to former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on his 36th death anniversary.
As many houses have been damaged in Kodagu and coastal region, SDRF and NDRF would be deployed and rescue works would be taken up on an emergency basis. Relief works would be initiated after the rescue operations, Bommai said.
Reacting to the killing of Chandrashekar Guruji in Hubballi, Bommai said, personal enmity and hatred is on the rise in the society. We should eschew this tendency by working unitedly. Laws also need to be tightened.
