Govt to arrange flights to Bengaluru from Ukraine: MP Surya

Bengaluru, February 26: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has said the Karnataka Government will book students arriving in the country from Ukraine on connecting flights to Bengaluru for free.

A group of students from Karnataka landed in Mumbai from Romania on Saturday. A batch of 13 students will reach Delhi from Romania late night and another 5 students from the state will reach the National Capital around 7 am tomorrow.

The MP Office was in constant touch with the students in Romania. MP Surya also spoke to the External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, MoS EAM Shri VM Muraleedharan & senior officials of the ministry for the safe return of our students to India.

Several students from Karnataka who are studying in Ukraine had reached out to the MP to help them reach Bengaluru seamlessly. Surya immediately requested State Revenue Minister R Ashoka to facilitate the travel of these students from the state to Bengaluru after their arrival in India.

“Karnataka government will arrange connecting flights to Bengaluru for free for all K’taka students reaching India from Ukraine,” Surya tweeted.

“I thank CM Shri Basavaraj Bommai & Revenue Minister Shri R Ashoka for taking swift action on my request to help our students reach their homes safely,” Surya added.

Students who reach India late night will also be accommodated for free at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi & their travel to Bengaluru will be arranged by the State subsequently.
