Centre to replicate KC valley project across the Nation

Bengaluru, June 13: After grand success of KC valley project in the state which yielded excellent results in recharging groundwater by filling up lakes with treated water the Centre is contemplating on replicating the KC Valley project across the country.

The project aims at massive replenishing of treated wastewater through Jal Shakti ministry.

The Jal Shakti Ministry has studied the Karnataka government’s project on supplying recycled water to fill up lakes. Same will be implemented in other states as well,” said sources.

Bengaluru’s Koramangala-Challaghatta Valley (KC Valley) lift irrigation project is the first of its kind, where treated is being supplied to top up lakes. Bengaluru Rural, Kolar and Chikkballapura districts sre getting benefitted from the project.

The project is being replicated at Anekal in Bengaluru Urban district and parts of Kanakapura in Ramanagara district too.

The KC Valley project needs an upgradation with better tertiary treatment and bio-remedial treatment of water. The helps prevent polluting of ground water table.
