Bengaluru urban emerged top to achieve 100 per cent 2-dose vaccination in state.

Bengaluru urban district has emerged as the first district, except BBMP jurisdiction, in the state to achieve 100 per cent target 2 dose corona vaccinated district.

With this, the urban administration has added one more feather to its cap by becoming first district in the state to achieve this feat. It may be recalled that Bengaluru Urban authorities were topping the list for first dose vaccination too. About 10.32 lakh people have been innoculated and Bengaluru urban district,  except BBMP jurisdiction, has achieved more than the set target within the stipulated time. Speaking to media persons while felicitating the corona warriors and frontline workers for their efforts in making the district pride he said that corona is not over yet.

New strains of corona are getting surfaced. Such being the case, eventhough an individual is fully vaccinatd it is imperative for him or her to follow covid appropriate behaviour. Mask should be worn compulsorily and social distance must be ensured. That apart, going to crowded placed must be avoided unless it is essential, suggested Mr. Manjunath.Some districts have not achieved 100 per cent in first dose of vaccination but with the efforts of doctors, para medics, panchsyat staff and a few NGOs the urban administration has achieved 100 % in second dose too.

While Bengaluru urban has achieved 100% vaccination Gulbarga has achieved as low as  60 per cent.A total of 10,34,184 people have been vaccinated across Bengaluru urban except BBMP jurisdiction. Bengaluru rural stands at 11 th place. Kodagu gets 2nd place with 90% vaccination.
