Bengaluru breaches 15000 mark, continue to shows upward trend

Bengaluru, Jan. 12: Garden city Bengaluru has continued to show rising trend and the city has logged a whopping 15,617 cases and six deaths as on January 12. The state has recorded 21,490 cases.
Tumakuru has overtaken both Mandya and Mysuru to occupy 2nd place with 594 cases.
Ramanagara district where Mekedatu padayatra is underway for the fourth day has registered 135 cases. While its neighbouring districts – Mandya and Mysuru has 319 and 524 cases respectively.


There is a fear of cases going steeply up in Ramanagara as covid appropriate behaviour was given a good bye during padayatra.
The High Court had slapped notice to KPCC and State Government and asked government why it failed to stop the Mekedatu padayatra when Covid is showing rising graph.
Meanwhile, BBMP chief commissioner Gaurav Gupta warned that across the globe metros have registered highest number of Covid-19 cases and Bengaluru is no exception.
He has also tried to mentally prepare citizens that cases across Bengaluru will see a steep hike and it is necessary to wear mask and maintain social distancing.
Further, he said that there was no sign of lock down but weekend and night curfew have been extended till the end of January.
