Covid curbs like night curfew and weekend curfew to continue till Jan end

Due to the rapid spike in the Covid-19 cases across the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai directed officials to extend the strict guidelines like night curfew and weekend curfew until the month end and to keep the children ward and ICU ready at all and district level as a precautionary measure.
Mr. Bommai held a review meet virtually today and directed Block Education Officers (BEOs) and taluk level officers to take stock of the situation at schools and prepare a report on whether or not to continue schools. Further, education and health and education officials were directed procure and stock required medicines to treat Covid.
Education and Health department officials asked to conduct a general health checkup in schools every fortnight. DCs and SPs are instructed to strictly enforce Covid guidelines at public places.
It is observed that a large number of people are at home isolation and they should be monitored periodically and medicines, health kits must be home-delivered. he said and added that triaging facilities must be strengthened across the state to provide care to infected patients. 27 covid care centres will be set up in the BBMP jurisdiction, he announced.
Series of festivities are lined up like Vaikunta Ekadashi and Sankranti in the days to come and Revenue and Muzrai departments have been directed to issue separate guidelines. Services of house surgeon doctors and final year medical students will be utilized to treat patients at Triaging centre.
Random testing has been ramped up to 1.3 lakh per day. Public programmes would have to be organized with strict adherence to the already issued guidelines and the same applies to market areas as well, said Mr. Bommai.
