BBMP chief instructs arrangements for pediatric vaccination

Vaccination for children in the age group of 15 to 18. Begins from Jan. 3

In the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing vaccination for children between the age group of 15 and 18 years from January 3, the BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has directed officials to make necessary arrangements to jab children.
Addressing a virtual review meeting regarding controlling of covid-19 in the city, he asked the officials to make all necessary arrangements at BBMP, government and private schools to vaccinate the target group and for deployment of personnel.
The BBMP is aiming at vaccination even the school drop outs (from slum and industrial areas). NGOs must be roped in for the hassle free vaccination drive. Further, preparations should be made for administering precautionary (booster) dose for those who are above 60 years with comorbidities and for health workers and frontline workers from January 10, he added.

BBMP limits has about five lakh children aged between 15 and 18 and their vaccination begins from January 3 and he asked officials to gear up to reach the target.
