AAP Demands tabling and Passing of BMLTA bill

Bengaluru Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (BMLTA) has been promised years ago but yet to be delivered.
Prithvi Reddy, State Convenor, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Karnataka today wrote to Transport Minister and CM of Karnataka demanding them to expedite process to bring in BMLTA in the upcoming assembly session.
“Thousands of crores of public money is spent in Bengaluru for metro, suburban trains, building and maintaining roads in the name of better services for citizens but as we can all see the traffic congestion is pathetic and pollution levels are becoming dangerous in our garden city,” he said.
He urged the Government to ensure that Namma Bengaluru reclaims it place as the “Start-up capital” which it recently lost to Delhi.
BMLTA will bring in much needed coordination between agencies that don’t seem to consult each other and plan independently based on their whims and fancies without care for citizens that all serve. AAP will take this matter up in the “people’s court” if the draft bill is not tabled for a discussion and passed in the upcoming session, he warned.
