Truth Triumphs

Veerappa Moily faces embarrassment over his social media post on Railway projects.

Bengaluru Express, December 16: Former Union Minister and Senior Congress leader M. Veerappa Moily has been facing acute embarrassment for his claim in his facebook post that Railway projects have been completed in Chikkaballapur section. This has become a subject matter of discussion in the social media.

The work on the Chikkaballapur – Gowribidanur and Chikkaballapur and Bagepalli are pending for several years. However, Mr Moily, in his Facebook post, has claimed that both the works have been completed and are fully operational. This has caused acute embarrassment to him as both the works are still in the stages of survey.
As the general elections 2024 to the Lok Sabha election is drawing near, Mr Moily has become active in the Social Media. He keeps on posting on one subject or the other.

According the Railway authorities, the Chikkaballapur – Gowribidanur work is still in the nacent stage. But Mr Moily has claimed that 44-Kms of Railway line is complete at a cost of Rs 367 crores and has been functioning as the bridge to the people of this region. But the fact of the matter is Mr Moily was not MP of Chikkaballapur when sanction was given to this project.

Mr Moily has also claimed that the work on the broad gauge railway line of 103-Kms between Chikkaballapur – Bagepalli – Sathya Sai Prashanti Nilayam (Puttaparthi) is also completed. However, this project too is still in the survey stage, according to railway authorities.

The faux pas committed by Moily, the former chief minister and senior Congress leader, is being intensely discussed in the social media.
