January 8: The state government must consider the demand of providing 7.5 per cent reservation for Valmiki community failing which a historical decision would be taken, threatened Prasannananda Puri seer of Rajanahalli Valmiki Guru Peeth.
He has given an ultimatum of February 9 to provide reservation for Valmiki community in government services.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are expected to to participate in the upcoming annual religious event. The successive governments are turning blind eye for demands of providing 7.5 per cent reservation, the seer reiterated.
Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa who assured to provide reservations once the report of Dr Nagmohan Das is presented. Unfortunately, he has forgotten the promise and now he is sitting at home, he vented out his anger.
Panchamasali sect of Linagayat and Kuruba communities too are demanding for reservation in government services.
