Woes to tackle urban issues and keep city problem-free

SR Umashankar today assumed charge as BBMP administrator and assured strike a coordination between different civic agencies and to enhance the quality of Bengaluru.

After assuming charge as administrator he said that Bengaluru has attained International Brand but there has been a cry that the infrastructure facilities are not in sync with the brand. Hence, a proper coordination will be struck to retain the glory of garden city Bengaluru, he said.

The state government will strive to enhance the infrastructure facilities further the civic body expects financial support from the centre as well.

Already, some public friendly mobile application like “FIX MY STREET” have been playing a crucial resolve in resolving civic issues and to have coordination with the public.
Certain burning issues like dreaded potholes, waterlogging and gray spots will be attended timely to make living better in Bengaluru, he assured.

Engineers must be pro-active and ensure quality work from contractors. This will boost up image of Bengaluru, he added.

Water logging in low lying areas is one of the commonest problems dogging the city. Some newly added areas lack proper drainage system. About 300 kms of drain network needs to be completed. Once it is done the problem of water logging can be alleviated, he opined.
Already zonal level teams headed by zonal commissioners have been formed to tackle rain related woes, he added.
