Bengaluru, July 18:
BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to take all necessary measures to ensure the completion of the Ejipura flyover project by March 2026.
He issued these instructions during an inspection visit today to the segment casting yard located in Sakalavara village on Bannerghatta Road, where he reviewed the casting work for the flyover along with senior officials.
The 2.38-kilometre-long Ejipura flyover, being constructed along the Ejipura main road, is progressing rapidly. Of the total 762 precast segments required for the project, 437 have already been installed. The remaining 325 segments are yet to be cast and installed. The Chief Commissioner instructed that 45 segments be prepared and installed each month to maintain project momentum.

He emphasized the need to expedite the segment casting and installation work, with a directive to complete this phase by the end of the year. Contractors and officials have been instructed to take appropriate steps to ensure the entire project is completed by March 2026.
Two land parcels near St. John’s Hospital and St. John’s Hostel are required for the project. The land acquisition issues have already been resolved through discussions with concerned stakeholders. Officials were directed to commence and complete ramp construction at these locations at the earliest.
Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad stated that all technical designs and plans for the Ejipura flyover have been finalized, and a detailed execution strategy has been developed to ensure timely completion.
Segment erection work is being carried out only during night hours—from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM—to avoid daytime traffic congestion. Despite heavy traffic in the area, work is progressing efficiently. The pedestrian walkway construction is nearly complete, and asphalt work underneath the flyover is ongoing. Additionally, shoulder drain and median development works are in progress.
Executive Engineer Chandrashekar and other concerned officials were also present during the inspection.
