Sporting Events for Officers and Employees Foster Better Camaraderie: Maheshwar Rao

Organizing sports events for BBMP officers and staff will help in building better camaraderie, stated Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao.

Speaking after inaugurating the BBMP Officers and Employees Sports Meet, held as part of the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanthi celebrations at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium in Jayanagar today he emphasized the importance of sports events. The sports meet will take place from June 13 to 19.

As part of the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanthi celebrations, BBMP organizes annual sports meets for its officers and staff. This is a commendable initiative, as sports not only improve physical and mental health but also enhance team spirit and bonding among employees, he said.

He emphasized that participation should not be limited to those with a keen interest in sports. All officers and employees should actively take part in the event. He directed the concerned authorities to create comprehensive plans to ensure the success of the program.

He also urged that participating officers be given more encouragement and that plans be made to include their children in the activities as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Special Commissioner for Education, Suralkar Vikas Kishor, said that steps will be taken in the coming days to ensure greater participation in the annual sports meets organized for officers and staff.

He added that the BBMP’s Education and Welfare Departments have devised special programs for those interested in sports and other extracurricular activities. Through the Education Department, coaching will be arranged in partnership with relevant organizations to help school children develop skills in sports, dance, and other areas.

Several programs have also been designed under the welfare schemes. For those who undergo training, financial support will be provided to help them generate income, he said.

Special Commissioner for Administration, Naveen Kumar Raju, stated that arrangements will be made to honor the winners of the sports meet with awards on the day of Kempegowda Jayanthi celebrations.

Also present at the event were South Zone Commissioner Digvijay Bodke, Assistant Commissioner Dileep, Deputy Director Lokesh, Senior Assistant Director Munishamappa, President of the BBMP Officers and Employees Welfare Association Amruth Raj, and other officials.
