CM position is not vacant, not the time discuss change of guard

New Delhi, July 8*: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Tuesday that Siddaramaiah was an influential backward classes leader and hence the Congress party was utilising his leadership to organise backward classes.
“Siddaramaiah is an influential leader of the backward classes and the party is utilising it. The national level OBC Advisory Council meeting to be held on July 15 would be held under the leadership of Siddaramaiah,” he said speaking to reporters.
Asked if politics would be discussed in Delhi, he said, “CM Siddaramaiah, AICC General Secretary and I will hold meeting to discuss it on July 10.”
Asked if the meeting would discuss appointing Siddaramaiah as the head of AICC OBC Advisory Council, he said, “No, the meeting is to discuss party organisation. The national level meeting of the OBC Advisory Council will be held in Bengaluru on July 15 and KPCC will host this meeting. The CM will lead the meeting as it is being held in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah may not be the head of the OBC Advisory Council, but he will lead the meeting as he is an influential backward classes leader. His contribution to organise backward classes is immense and hence the party making use of his leadership.”
CM post not vacant
Asked about MLAs proposing his name for the CM’s post, he said, “The CM’s post is not vacant right now. Hence, this is not the time to discuss it.”
Asked about lack of funds for transporting ration issued under Anna Bhagya scheme, he said he did not have much information on it.
