Haveri, March.10: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said with the inauguration of a mega-dairy he has the satisfaction of having fulfilled the aspirations of the milk producers.
He told reporters here on Friday that he was feeling happy that the opportunity came to him to fulfill what they had fought for it. It was a moment of happiness that the long pending dream of the district became true today. The previous governments failed to fulfill this demand but he got the opportunity to establish the mega-dairy, UHT, and sachet units.
The CM said the daily milk production is around one lakh liters and it was around 75,000 liters before the establishment of the dairy. If the unit becomes fully operational, they can do their packaging and marketing as well as buy more milk. The long pending demand for a milk union and a mega-dairy has been established. Before this, the foundation stone had been laid for tetra pack, UHT, milk storage, and milk sachet packing units, and all of them were opened today. The capacity of Tetra Pack’s UHT milk storage was around 80,000 to one lakh liters, and the sachet unit capacity is around 25,000 to 50,000 liters.
