Order issued for Vande Bharat train stop at Haveri

MP Basavaraj Bommai thanks Union Railway Minister

Bengaluru Express
Haveri, April 2:

Former CM and Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha member Basavaraja Bommai has thanked Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna for issuing an order to stop the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train at Haveri.

In a press release, Bommai said that India has witnessed a massive revolution in various sectors over the past ten years, especially in railway infrastructure, digital advancements, healthcare, and education. India, which has the world’s largest railway network, has seen significant railway development in Karnataka under the administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The central government allocated Rs 7,000 crore for Karnataka’s railway projects last year and has granted another Rs 7,000 crore this year. Electrification of railway lines has also been completed, leading to the introduction of high-speed Vande Bharat trains in the state. This is due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership.

He said the Vande Bharat train, which runs between Bengaluru and Dharwad, reaches Hubballi-Dharwad from Bengaluru in just five hours. Initially, it had stoppages only at Tumakuru, Davangere, and Hubballi-Dharwad. However, the people of Haveri had been demanding a stop at Haveri as well. Haveri serves as a key connectivity hub linking Sirsi, Karwar (coastal Karnataka), Ballari, and Kalyana Karnataka. Recognizing this demand, the Haveri public and the Chamber of Commerce urged for a stop at Haveri.

Responding to this demand, Bommai exerted pressure on Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and requested the support of Karnataka’s Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna. Both ministers responded positively and have now issued orders for a trial stoppage of the Vande Bharat train at Haveri. If passenger numbers increase, this stop will be made permanent. The inauguration date for this stoppage will be announced soon.

The BJP MP congratulated the people of Haveri for this achievement and urged them to make full use of the Vande Bharat train service.
