Those violating and defying night curfew norms will be dealt with iron fist, warned
Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant.
Speaking to mediapersons on Monday, Mr. Pant has stated that case will be foisted mercilessly against those who violate night curfew invoked by the government effective from tomorrow.
In a bid to contain spreading of Omicron variant virus, the state government has imposed night curfew for 10 days from Dec 28 to Jan 7.
“As per the government orders, the curfew will be imposed in Bengaluru between 10 PM and 5 am. There is no scope for any activity in pubs, clubs and other commercial establishments,” he said.
However, the night curfew has not gone down well with hospitality industry.
Those violating curfew rules they will be booked under the National Disaster Management Act (NDMA).
He emphasised that there will be no movement of vehicles, people on M.G. Road, Brigade Road, Koramangala and Indiranagar after 10 PM.
CCTV’s will be installed everywhere and no passes will be issued. Those who move out due to emergency must produce proofs. ID cards and journey tickets must be produced to police on prowl.
