Bengaluru, Jan 31: Close on the heels of the distribution of 36,000 houses of the total 1.82 lakh houses to the poor across the state by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah next month, Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan inspected the under construction in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The houses are being constructed on behalf of the Karnataka Slums Development Board.
Eight hundred houses are being constructed at Negenahalli in KR Pura and 209 houses at Chettappa Garden in Sarvagnanagar. The minister visited those places.
He instructed the officials concerned to complete all the works including the basic infrastructure before February 20. Besides the compound wall must be built at those two places.
Speaking on the occasion, Zameer Ahmed Khan said the CM would distribute at a time around 40000 houses of the total 2.32 lakh houses being constructed by the Karnataka Slums Development Board and the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation next month.
It would be a dream come true for hundreds of families which had been waiting for a long time. If the beneficiaries pay Rs one lakh each, the rest of the amount would be borne by the government.
Karnataka Slums Development Board Chairman Prasad Abbaiah, Commissioner Venkatesh, Chief Engineer Balaraju and others were present.
