Mangaluru, Jan. 7: A woman police sub-inspector attached to Mangaluru Women’s police station has been suspended on charges of dereliction and negligence in investigating a POCSO case.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar has issued suspension orders on Wednesday.
In another incident five cops attached to same police station have been suspended after it was found that they organised a party and consumed alcohol inside the police station.
PSI Rosamma has been suspended for sheer negligence to investigate into the sexual harassment case registered under POCSO Act. The accused is a police head constable. The case was registered in a women’s police station in Mangaluru.
The accused head constable was arrested in July, 2021 for sexually harassing a minor girl, he stated.
In another incident, two assitant sub-inspectors (ASI), two head constables
and a police constable have been suspended for consuming liquor in the police station and partying.
The CCTV grab clearly establishes the misconduct of police personnel. An inquiry was conducted and report has been submitted by senior cops.
