Indore, Madhya Pradesh, May 4: Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a Women’s Symposium organized by the Lions Club in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, emphasized the significant contribution of women to the country’s developmental journey.
Governor Gehlot remarked that as the nation progresses on its path of development, the role of women becomes increasingly vital in shaping the economic landscape. He underscored the necessity of women’s participation across all sectors for achieving balanced and comprehensive development, noting the implementation of various empowerment measures, including women’s reservations.
Drawing from India’s rich cultural heritage, Governor Gehlot celebrated the revered status of women as embodiments of strength and power. He hailed the historical bravery and courage demonstrated by women in pivotal national and social welfare endeavors, emphasizing their indispensable role in the country’s independence movement.
Furthermore, Governor Gehlot stressed the importance of adopting humane values and safeguarding women’s interests, echoing the sentiments of constitutional stalwarts like Dr. BR Ambedkar, who emphasized the correlation between women’s status and societal progress.
Governor Gehlot expressed optimism about the future, highlighting the instrumental contributions of women in various fields, including science, entrepreneurship, and governance. He envisioned a resurgence of India’s global leadership with active female participation, fostering a better, self-reliant nation.
In alignment with the Lions Club’s commitment to humanitarian service, Governor Gehlot commended the organization’s efforts in health, education, environmental protection, and social harmony. He lauded the Women’s Symposium as a platform for empowering women and fostering societal progress.
