Bengaluru, June 15: In a tit for tat sorts, the Congress government has announced that it has removed controversial three chapters about Hedgewar, Savarkar and Chakravarthi Sulibele from the syllabus. It has added a few chapters which have been removed by the previous government.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting primary education minister Madhu Bangarappa said that since the text books have already reached students only a minor changes have been made and in the next academic year comprehensive changes will be made, he announced. These changs are applicable for class 6 to 12 students.
Amendments in the text books will be effected pertaining only to Social Science and Kannada text books. These changes have been incorporated after taking suggestions from the five- member committee. These amendments have been incorporated to ensure that students are not mislead about the history.
Supplementary note will be issued to all the teachers on what to be taught or not.
