After two hours of marathon meeting with a dozen experts, the state government on Friday decided to lift the weekend curfew across the state.
However, the night curfew in the state will continue to remain. All commercial activities are likely to have 50:50 occupancy, said Revenue minister R Ashok.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting Mr. Ashok says, “Although corona cases are on the rise the admission rate has remained below 5%. If, the hospital admission rate increases then the night curfew will be reimplemented. Hospitalisation rate is the benchmark for weekend curfew.
“We appeal the public to follow the covid appropriate behaviour and help government to contain the covid cases,” he said.
Following an extensive demand from opposition parties, some institutions to lift the weekend curfew, a decision has been taken after deliberation with experts from various fields including health, education, WHO, Nimhans among others, added Mr. Ashok.
The meeting comprising ministers and experts was chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
