• Minister Nirani terms Davos trip successful
• Industrialists were invited to make investments in the state

Bengaluru, May 27: Exuding confidence ahead of the mega Global Investors Meet in November this year, Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani said that the Government is expecting Rs 5 lakh crore investments in Karnataka during the upcoming Global Investors’ Meet.
The Minister was speaking to media personnel at Kempegowda International Airport here after attending the World Economic Forum conference at Davos in Switzerland.
Briefing the media about his Davos trip, Minister Nirani said that the leading industrialists were keen to make investments in Karnataka. “The three-day Global Investors Meet will be held in Bengaluru as per the schedule from November 2 to 4, 2022. And world’s leading industrialists have shown keen interest to make investments in the state. We are expecting Rs 5 lakh worth investments. I met world’s many prominent industrialists along with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at World Economic Forum conference at Davos and held talks regarding investments. It was a fruitful trip,” explained Nirani.
Elaborating further on the investment proposals, Nirani said that the state’s business-friendly atmosphere is attracting investors. “Our government’s investor-friendly steps, pleasant weather conditions, world-class infrastructure facilities including roads, water and power supply are attracting investors into Karnataka. Massive investments will help set up more industries and create jobs for local people and address unemployment problem,” the minister opined.
The Minister expressed hope that the upcoming Global Investors Meet would completely transform the industrial scenario in the state in a few years. “We met several industrialists in four days and many of them have committed to invest in the state which is expected to push GDP growth in the state. Many prominent industrialists have promised to take part in the GIM in November. We have showcased Karnataka’s achievements in the industrial sector and many expressed special interest on our state,” the minister stated.
