Bengaluru, May 7: The BBMP budget with an outlay of Rs. 10.484.90 crore has been approved by the government with minor re-appropriations. However, the total outlay of the budget remains unchanged.
It may be recalled that the BBMP presented the budget in an unprecedented manner by uploading the budget document on BBMP’s official website at around 11.15 pm on March 31. The way the BBMP had presented the budget had become a talk of the town and an unpleasant incident in the history of BBMP.


Interestingly, after a long battle-like follow ups, the medical funds for the journalists under the mayor’s discretionary funds, has been increased from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 2 crore.
Due to various cases pending in the high court about the repair and maintenance of the solid waste management equipments Rs. 15 crore has been hiked to Rs. 90 crore. Similarly, funds earmarked for landfills have been reappropriated to Rs. 95 crore from Rs. 20 crore.
