Former rich ministers fail to clear dues to government

Bangalore, March 23: If any member of public defaults he is liable to pay the penalty. But if a politician defaults payment of rent to the government allotted house or accommodation it goes unheard and unnoticed.

In one such similar case, one of the rich and influential politicians Chamarajpet MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, a former minister in JD(S) co-alition government have defaulted paying the rent and have failed to return the home appliances to the government after vacating the government allotted bungalow.

It may be recalled that Enforcement Directorate has issued notice to MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan on August 9 last year
asking him to submit documents pertaining to the construction of a bungalow near Cantonement railway station.

As per the information obtained through Right To Information (RTI) Act BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan owes a whopping Rs. 38,27,304 to the government towards the rent of 188 days.

Another high value defaulting politician from Congress is RB Thimmapur. He owes Rs. 3,77,761 for not returning some articles.

Yet another minister CS Puttaraju from JD(S) has to pay Rs. 1,09,443 to the government. The three other politicians who owes government arrears are Venkataramanappa Rs. 59,572 (for not returning home appliances), Managooli Mallappa Channaveerappa Rs. 54283 (for not returning home appliances) and Venkatarao Nadagouda Rs. 87473 for not returning (home appliances and furniture.
