Bengaluru, May 25: Representatives of Peenya Industrialists Association (PIA) have requested the BESCOM to extend power subsidies to Industrial units for minimum period of 5 to 10 years.
During interaction meeting with BESCOM MD P. Rajendra Cholan and senior officers of BESCOM on Tuesday, representatives of Industrial units of Representatives of Peenya, Nelamangala, Karihobanahalli, Dabaspet and Kumbalgud Industrial areas had requested BESCOM to extend power subsidy to HT consumers for minimum 5 years to 10 years.
BESCOM has requested all the open access and wheeling consumers to enroll power subsidy schemes and utilize more BESCOM power to get benefits. During meeting BESCOM officials requested High Tension (HT) consumers to avail the power subsidy schemes.
Meanwhile, HT consumers have requested for green energy certification under Discounted Energy Rate Scheme (DERS) schemes at Rs.6/unit discounted rate tariff. BESCOM MD replied that request has already been sent to KERC and green energy certification under DERS request.
BESCOM MD has instructed EE Peenya for all power supply issues address the field officer by conducting meeting with industrial association periodically.
Further BESCOM MD clarified that BESCOM is not insisting any Trade License for Industrial consumers who are requesting power for industrial units.
Mr. Cholan has assured representatives of Peenya Industries Association that internal committee will be formed to resolve the problem faced by the Industries from Meter Testing and Vigilance staff during inspection. Director Technical of BESCOM will be heading the committee and representatives of Peenya industries will part of the committee, he said.
Rebate of 50 paise per unit electricity charges consumed by Micro and Small Scales Industries shall be given for this financial year.
