Dr.Ashwath Narayan to attend international conferences in London, Davos

Bengaluru, May 17: Dr.Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, IT, BT, Skill Development & Livelihood, and Government of Karnataka will be attending International Conferences scheduled to be held in London and Davos. He will be leaving the country on May 18.

First, he will attend the Commonwealth Education Conference scheduled to be held in London, on May 19, 2022. The conference is organised by International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) in association with Bridge India, a progressive non-profit think tank dedicated to discourse on public policy.

In a keynote session on, “How to build a national higher education system in the 21st century”, Narayan will be presenting an overview of India’s new National Education Policy 2020. Distinguished Panelists who participate in the conference among others include, Tom Joseph, Executive Director – Strategy & Development, ISDC; Supriyo Chaudhuri, Chief Learning Officer, ATMC, Nitin Bhalla, Head – Outreach and Partnerships, Sri Aurobindo Society, Steve Waterworth, Head of International Partnerships, Liverpool John Moores University.

Over 150+ attendees from the UK, India, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries are expected to attend this conference.

After this, the minister will be attending the event of Education World Forum (EWF) on May 22 and 23, which will is also slated to be held in London. Here, he will discuss pertaining to the memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with foreign higher educational institutions, twinning degrees, and research exchange among other things. Meanwhile, he will also convene meetings with heads of prestigious Scottish universities of Edinburgh and Dundee. Further, he will also attend several ministerial level meetings with his foreign counterparts.

Finally, he will travel to Davos, Switzerland, to participate along with Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai in the summit of the World Economic Forum, Here, he will draw attention to the investment opportunities in IT/BT in Karnataka.

Along with the minister the delegation includes G.Kumar Naik, ACS, Department of Higher Education, P.Pradeep, Commissioner, Department of Collegiate and Technical Education and Dr.Gopalakrishna Joshi, Executive Director, State Higher Education Council.
