Bengaluru, April 28: Restrain from passing the buck to other civic agencies. Instead attend to the problems and ensure works taken up are completed in time. This suggestion came from none other than the BBMP administrator Rakesh Singh and Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta.
Addressing a virtual meeting on Thursday Singh directed officials to inspect the ongoing works to ensure quality and to make sure works are completed on priority. He directed officials to work in tandem with other agencies like BWSSB, BESCOM, Bengaluru Smart City Ltd, etc.
Footpaths should be repaired, replace the broken slabs on the drain, misplaced kerb stones immediately to prevent accidents. Roads taken up by the smart city project should be in good condition. “Surprise inspection, along with senior officials will be done regarding the works taken up in the city,” he added. He also instructed the zonal level officials to frequently inspect the works taken up by BBMP and also the works related to the solid waste management, Rajakaluve development works, pothole filling, etc.
Addressing the virtual meeting Gupta also directed officials to ensure roads, drains and footpaths are in good condition. The BBMP must build the confidence of public by attending to their problems immediately, he suggested.
Officials should be alert during the rainy season. They should respond to the problems immediately. Shoulder drains should be in a better condition to ensure water runs of easily.
Removal of hoardings and OFC cable:
Flex, banners and hoardings established in the city should be removed. Illegal OFC cables should be removed, he said. He instructed the officials to take action in this regard.
