Discontent in BJP over poll tickets, JDS hunts dissidents

Bangalore, April 13: Even before the controversy and ripples over the BJP’s first candidates list settled down the second lists of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections 2023 too has left many leaders and sitting MLAs miffed as they hoped to earn a party ticket.

After former deputy chief minister Lakshman Savadi openly indicated to quit party by tendering his resignation to party’s primary membership. He was totally upset after being denied the Athani seat.

Meanwhile, six-time MLA from the Sulia Assembly constituency, S Angara announced his decision to resign from the active politics after the party denied him ticket.

However, the discontent within the saffron party has brought cheers to the JD(S) camp, which is hoping those denied tickets by the two national parties may knock at its doors.

Speaking about the BJP’s first candidate list, JDS has said that the BJP has given tickets to people with a criminal background and the party tops the list in selecting history sheeters.

Bengaluru South District BJP President NR Ramesh is allegedly strongly being poached by JDS. Ramesh, an aspirant for assembly ticket to either Chikpet or Jayanagar. He has already flagged his dissidence.
