Bengaluru, Oct. 2: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the ‘Bharath Jodo’ yatra is a sinister campaign. He was talking to reporters after garlanding the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri here on Sunday.
Asked about the former AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s statement terming the incumbent BJP government in Karnataka as a ‘corrupt government’, the CM shot back “on Gandhi Jayanti day I need not talk about the fake Gandhis. The whole party is on bail.
Rahul Gandhi and his mother and AICC President Sonia Gandhi, and KPCC President are on bail. It’s a bail party and all the cases are pertaining to corruption. The KPCC President is struggling hard in padayatra as the cases have been going on since the last two to three years. Hitherto, Karnataka was their ATM but not now, and for this reason they may be unhappy. Everybody knows that there is no 40 per cent here. I will order an inquiry if they give me documents where such things have happened”.
Don’t mix development with politics:
Bommai said details about the Channapatna incident are collected. Everyone must follow rules and protocol in the government functions and programs. All of them have come a long way and matured, and it is pertinent to behave in such a manner. There is no place for violence here. What is important is that the grants must reach the people more than the prestige. A report is being obtained about the Friday incident, he added.
