Bengaluru, Sept. 23: A gaping hole that surfaced on Sumanahalli flyover locat
ed along the Outer Ring Road linking Mysuru road and Tumakuru road three days ago, has exposed the BBMP’s sub-standard works on flyovers. The two flyovers – steel flyover at the Shivananda Circle and Peenya Flyover built at whopping cost is not put to optimum use as it is not fit to carry heavy vehicles. Citizens wonder the quality of the work executed by the BBMP engineers even after spending huge money.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) authorities have said that they would take one month to complete the repair work at Sumanahalli flyover. It may be recalled that the entire stretch of flyover would be concretised but on Friday only the affected part of the flyover was repaired.

The 546-metre-long flyover was built in 2010 by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and was handed over to the BBMP in 2014-15. In 2019, a portion of the flyover on the same stretch was damaged and reinforcement of the steel stood exposed to air.
