Bengaluru, May 18: The Bangalore Reporters’ Guild (BRG), which has a rich legacy of five decades, unanimously elected a new team of office bearers on Sunday at its premises.
Senior journalist and columnist RT Vittal Murthy has been elected as President and TV9 Chief Reporter HV Kiran has been appointed as General Secretary. The other office bearers include Niranjan KN (Vice President) of the Times of India, Shivanna (treasurer) of Ee Sanje and Senior Journalist RH Nataraj as Joint Secretary.
The newly elected committee members include senior Journalist KM Shivaraj (Mysore Mitra), KS Somashekhar (Indu Sanje), G Chandrashekar (Sanje Express), Syed Peer Pasha Khadri (Daily Salar) and BT Ramya (Suddiloka).
The outgoing general secreetary Mr Chandrashekar presented the audit details to the members at the general body meeting. Due to various constraints including Corona period, elections were not held to the guild. The committee has organised various study tours to the journalists to get themselves exposed to new challenges, he added.
