Amit Shah’s visits a precursor for thumping victory for BJP?

Bengaluru, March 23: Eyeing to secure an absolute majority in the 224-Karnataka assembly, Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Bengaluru tomorrow.

During his day-long visit, Shah is slated to address a couple of public rallies and hold meetings with party cadres to ensure that a united BJP wipes out a unified Congress-JDS and the party gets a thumping victory.

The visits of the BJP’s master strategist to Karnataka in the run-up to the ensuing assembly election have already sent shivers down the spine of the Opposition. Due to his fabled ability to weave full-proof winning strategy, BJP cadres are also certain that the party would script a new history in Karnataka, Gujarat and the North-East.

In his speech, Shah is set to attack both Congress and JDS for following dynastic politics for ages which has not done any good to the state and its people, but only perpetuated corruption. In an earlier visit to the state, he had said that the Congress in Karnataka was an ATM for the Gandhi family.

Following Shah’s directives, BJP karykartas are leaving no stone unturned to make Shah’s target of securing an absolute majority in the state a reality. The BJP has 117 seats in the Karnataka assembly. Opposition Congress has 69 and JDS has 32 seats. Others and independents have the rest.

None knows it better than Shah the importance of securing an absolute majority in Karnataka as it will have its ramifications on the general election barely a year away. He plunged into action much before the Election Commission sounded the poll bugle for the state.

True to his characteristic self, BJP’s master strategist consciously chose Mysuru region’s Mandya, a Congress and JD(S) bastion dominated by Vokkaligas, as he began his first visit to the poll-bound state in late December. The region, comprising 61 seats, holds the key for the BJP to regain absolute power. Subsequently, Shah criss-crossed the entire state addressing numerous public rallies in various parts of the state including, Bengaluru and Ballari, two areas crucial for Shah’s ‘absolute-majority’ target.
