Bengaluru, Feb. 10: In an attempt to execute the projects adhering to deadline and quality, the Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan on Saturday directed that the houses being constructed by the Karnataka Slums Development Board must not compromise with the quality and all necessary infrastructures must be completed within the stipulated time.
Ahead of allotment of 36,000 houses by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by the end of the month, Mr Ahmed reviewed the progress of the work through the video conferencing. CM is expected to launch the house distribution simultaneously across the state. The same day, the allottee would be handed over with the house key, he announced.
He directed officials to ensure completion of works such as drinking water, UGD and electricity connection before February 20. Stern action would be initiated if the deadlines are adhered to.
Contractors failing to meet the deadline would be blacklisted, Mr Ahmed warned and said he would physically visit each and every district to ensure that only the beneficiaries have occupied the allotted houses.
The beneficiaries would have to pay Rs. One lakh while the remaining amount would be borne by the state government, he explained.
Department Secretary Naveen Raj Singh, Commissioner Venkatesh and Chief Engineer Balaraju were present.
