Bengaluru, Nov. 29:
Ballari District In-Charge and Housing, Minorities Welfare and Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmad Khan has directed the DC to conduct an investigation and submit a report regarding the death of a postpartum woman from Kudligi at VIMS in Ballari.
The minister, who gathered information about the incident from District Commissioner Prashant Kumar Mishra, instructed him to take the matter seriously and adopt precautionary measures.
The minister clarified that this incident is not related to the previous case of four maternal deaths that occurred in the district hospital.
In this case, Mahalakshmi, a resident of Kudligi and Gudekote Primary Health Center, was admitted to VIMS on November 24 and passed away two days later due to unsuccessful treatment.
Health officials have already submitted a report on the matter. The DC assured the minister that precautions will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
