Bengaluru, Oct 26: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today lauded the Sringeri mutt as one of the mutts which is highly regarded by the people for its dharmic traditions.
Speaking at ‘Namah Shivaya’ programme organised to celebrate 50 years of Sanyasatva of Sringeri seer Shankaracharya Sri Bharthitheertha Mahaswamy, he said, “Bharthitheertha swamiji has worked hard to uphold dharma for 50 years. Our efforts may fail but our prayers never. My relation with the Sringeri mutt is like the relationship between disciple and God.”
“Sri Shankaracharya was responsible for the welfare of Hindu dharma through establishments of Sharada Peeta across the country. Sri Vidhushekhara Swamiji is following the footsteps of his predecessors. I pray that his blessings are there for the people and the state,” he added.
“Philosophy of all religions is the same. There is only one God though there are hundreds of prayers. God is one but has different names. I pray to Lord Shiva to bless us all,” he said.
“DK Shivakumar has been a devotee of the Sharada Mutt and I pray that he continues his good work for the people of the state,” Swamiji said.
