I am not big enough to discuss power transfer with CM
I am a Congress worker, witness to everything
DK Shivakumar’s hard work will pay off one day or the other
Bengaluru, Nov 20: Bamul President and former MP DK Suresh today expressed confidence that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would honor his promises.
Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, he said, “I am not big enough to discuss power transfer with the CM. He is a senior leader and he has his responsibilities. He has fulfilled his promises to the people of Karnataka. He has kept his words in the government too.” He was replying to a question if he discussed power transfer during his meeting with the CM.
Asked if Siddaramaiah will keep his words on power sharing, he said, “I don’t know anything about it. He is the CM currently and he will discuss it with the senior leaders in the party.”
When asked about excitement among DK Shivakumar’s fans that he would become a CM after 2.5 years of government, he said, “Every one has that desire. His fans are praying for it, but we work within the party framework. CM and DCM have to abide by the party guidelines. These decisions are taken at the highest levels of the party. The CM post is not empty right now. If any decision is taken, the High Command will take it.”
Asked about DK Shivakumar’s reference to making sacrifices, he said, “I don’t have information about it, you ask him directly.”
Replying to a question on DK Shivakumar completing 6 years as KPCC President, he said, “He is doing party work. If someone else becomes the president tomorrow, he will support them. He is ready to give opportunities to anyone who becomes the president. He has never said he will resign and hence he will continue as of now.”
Shivakumar isn’t interesting in records
Asked if DK Shivakumar would be interested in getting into record books by completing 8 years as KPCC President, he said, “He is not interested in records. To remain eternal in politics, one has to keep their word. Then only they will be known forever.”
Asked if DK Shivakumar would like to leave behind a legacy, he said, “He has energized the party when it was in doldrums and he has enthused the party workers. He has kept his words by bringing the party back to power.”
DK Shivakumar will reap rewards someday
Asked when DK Shivakumar would get rewards for his hard work, he said, “Shivakumar will get reward for his hard work someday. Let’s wait and see. I don’t know if he would get power now.”
Asked if time has come for DK Shivakumar to become CM, he said, “I had said that my brother would become the CM if he is lucky. A lot of people have worked hard. Everyone has desires, but what is more important is giving good governance.”
Asked if DK Shivakumar would be sidelined if he relinquishes KPCC Presidency and if Cabinet reshuffle happened, he said, “What is destined will happen. In Telangana, Revant Reddy came from another party and became a CM. In Gujarat, first MLAs have become CMs. Nothing is impossible in politics. Everything works on promises.”
Asked if High command gave him any promise during his meeting in Delhi, he said, “I did not discuss politics during my meeting with the High command. I usually meet the senior leaders during my visit to Delhi.”
As a party worker, I am witness to everything
Asked if he was witness to the power sharing promise, he said, “As a party worker, I am witness to everything in the party.”
Asked if High command would clarify this, he said, “They will definitely clarify this, they watch everything.”
Asked if their demands will be met by the High command, he said, “We don’t have any demand. I have a desire, but I don’t know if it will be fulfilled. It is all God’s grace.”
