BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to initiate steps for road construction in the buffer zone of the SWD near the Hosakerehalli Kodi Road in the RR Nagar zone.
During an on-site inspection in the RR Nagar zone concerning the development of a road in the SWD buffer zone on Wednesday, he emphasized the need to expedite the development work.
To facilitate the construction of the road in the buffer zone, if land acquisition is necessary, the officials were instructed to acquire such land through TDR and take appropriate to proceed with the road construction.
During the visit, the Chief Commissioner also inspected the adjoining cross roads near Kodi Road in Hosakerehalli and instructed that repair works be undertaken to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
300 km “Sanchara Yukta” Road Network Planned:

With the objective of reducing traffic congestion in the city, an ambitious project has been initiated to develop 300 km of roads along the SWD buffer zones under the “Sanchara Yukta”. Of this, 70 km of roads are planned within the RR Nagar zone. Developing roads in the buffer zone will improve connectivity to several areas stated Technical Director of B-SMILE.
Hosakerehalli Flyover Inspection:
At the Hosakerehalli Junction near PES College on the Outer Ring Road, the flyover work is progressing rapidly. Officials were instructed to complete and dedicate it for public use by October 2025.
The 500-meter-long flyover at Hosakerehalli Junction is currently 85% complete, with only the down ramp on the Nayandahalli Junction side remaining. Instructions were given to speed up the remaining work and ensure timely completion.
BWSSB is instructed to restore the road:
At Srinivasa Road in Hosakerehalli, the BWSSB had excavated the entire road for their work. Although the work is reportedly complete, the road restoration is still pending. Instructions were given to BWSSB officials to immediately carry out the necessary restoration.
Present during the inspection were BMRDA Commissioner Rajendra Cholan, Special Commissioner Karigowda, Zonal Commissioner Satish, Technical Director of B-SMILE B.S. Prahalad, Chief Engineer Rajesh, Swayamprabha, and other officials.
