Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation’s Secretary Zamir Ahmed Khan directs to expedite housing schemes

Bengaluru, June 13: Expressing deep concern about the pace of the housing schemes undertaken by the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation
Secretary Zamir Ahmed Khan directed officials to speed up the work.

Speaking after inspecting the progress of the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation, he directed to expedite the construction of houses for the economically weaker sections under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme.

Of the 52,000 houses under this scheme in the state, 11,400 houses need to be allocated on priority basis, he directed further he suggested the officials concerned to complete the housing project and basic amenities in a time bound manner.

As regards delay in the picking of beneficiaries for Basava, Ambedkar, Devraj Urs, Vajpayee Nagar, and Prime Minister’s rural housing schemes he suggested officials to coordinate with the legislators and resolve the issue at the earliest. He also instructed to ensure that the subsidy amount reaches on time.

Regarding the completion of one lakh houses under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme in Bengaluru, he instructed to expedite the process as beneficiaries have been waiting for years. He said that a meeting with the Central Minister will be held in Delhi soon to get more funds as the Central Government has a responsibility in the Central and rural housing schemes.

Housing Department Director Navin Raj Singh, Corporation’s Managing Director Susheelamma, Chief Engineer Sanjeev Reddy and others were present.
